However, Pandemonium is not like Hell, but Purgatory. Supernal Demons from Pandemonium and Goetic demons from inside the Mind, representations of your actual inner vices and failings and so on.

Wow I wish I had something cool to say here. That goes for all, not just Mastigos. I know it was in Summoners, and all it takes is 3 dots in any arcanum. Do note that Mastigos deal with two different kinds of Demons to make it more confusing.

As for the Evil part of it I’m re-reading Paths spoilers myself, right now. All Supernal beings when summoned pose a challenge to the summoner and if that challenge is deciphered and overcome, they owe the mage a service.
